Light in the Darkness

Just wanted to share a thought......My kids asked me the other day why we put up lights at Christmas time? I think I told them that "It's a festive thing to do" .

Today I was riding in the car listening to kwave and the pastor was talking about "Darkness" which made me think about Pastor Scott's message this last Sun. about the glory of God and also made me rethink my answer to that Question my very inquisitive children had asked....

Maybe we hang lights to symbolize "The light that was brought into a dark and dreary world ...the baby wrapped in cloth lying in a manger....Jesus"

The Babies are finally here......Rachel's Cat Lily had seven! They are so stinking cute .....I swore I would give them all away and I already want to keep at least 2. look at the orange and white one!!!! I am sure that by the time we have dealt with them for 5-6 weeks I will be ready for them to go (don't worry honey)

It's the most WONDERFUL time of the year!!!

Isn't that true? Think about the Holidays we are about to celebrate............. Thanks Giving and Christmas....a time for thankfulness to our creator for all that He has done and will do for us, in more ways than we will ever know, and a time to reflect on the ultimate gift of all time, "Our Savior", born in a manger to save the world and make it possible to have a relationship with our Lord. I feel very blessed to live in a country where we are free to celebrate openly!

Chicky

I heard this great analogy on the radio today......................
There was a little Chicky that lived in a barn and loved to sit high up on a beam, on warm sunny days and chirp away, she was such a sweet little Chicky.
One day the weather started to turn cold and eventually as winter went by the sweet Chicky fell ,frozen from the beam on to the barn floor.
She lay there frozen and about to die when a cow happened to walk by and took a dump right on top of her!! yuk! But even though it stunk the manure was warm and soon the chick was not cold anymore the manure saved her.
She was stuck and could not get out of the pile. The barn cat strolled by and said "can I help you out?" the Chicky said "oh yes, please do" so the cat pulled her out and swallowed her whole!

The morel of this story is...Sometimes people that dump on you are not trying to hurt you, and people that help you out are not always your Friends.

I am so blessed................ God is always good! These are the things that always put a smile on my face and I thank God for........ His word, Beautiful (on the inside) people like my Husband , Kids, Mom Dad, Sis, Bro, and all of the rest of our big beautiful family, friends, friends blogs, email, going to the beautiful place I work at (if you haven't been in you should see it, so cute), a good movie, Sunday dinners, watching my kids do what God made them to do, good food and wine, date night, long walks at sun set even though I make everyone run home at the first sign of darkness, talking over a cup of Joe, reading, playing at the beach, being with the ones I love, home, someplace tropical, the smell of something sweet in the oven, a full gas tank, a card from a friend, a song that takes you back, hair, new clothes, clean house and car, free time.........Okay that helped, I feel better now I just needed to count my blessings. Thank you for indulging me. If you just read this tag your it, count some of yours!

A day in the Mud

Okay so the place to go on the first day of school is Glen Ivy Day Spa!!! My sister and I went on Mon. and it was so fun..... it cost $35 to get in and the place is like a Spa Amusement Park, admission includes all of your usual spa stuff; steam room, sauna, locker room, jacuzzi, and then you get to use their mineral baths and rub mud (more like red clay) all over your bod and bake in the sun rinse off and lay by their beautiful pools or float on a raft....all surrounded by beautiful lush landscaped hills. Pay $20 extra and you can enter the grotto....this cave were they paint you with sea kelp and aloe then you are sent to the steam room and served green tea. It would be a wonderful place to take your Honey too we saw allot of couples http://www.glenivy.com/

My beautiful kids started school on Monday and I only have pics of Alec and Rach because getting the high schoolers out the door at 6:40 am was a struggle therefore no pictures....they would have screamed at me thank goodness my wonderful honey took them for me....thanks babe.

I need to let all of my twilight friends know that I finally finished book 3 and even though I have read some BAD! reveiw of the 4th book I am still going to read it because I am obsessed.....I just have a list of things to get done first.

Okay I am a "Twilight" junkie.... I am getting no work done around the house and feel like I need to have an eye exam but for some reason I can"t put the book down. Thanks Kimi!

I need an assistant!!

I am feeling overwhelmed with things to do...I think it would help to have someone constantly by my side with a legal pad writing down the things I need to do and then taking half of them and doing them for me....kinda like having an assistant at the salon that shampoos for you and mixes your color and gets your guest something to drink. Rachel is pretty efficient maybe I'll get her a legal pad and a sharp pencil...

Glad to be home from our Volleyball Vacation. Love! Volleyball it is such an exciting game to watch. Em's Team did really well. so proud of them. Came home to a house full of Family and had a fabulous 4th. Today we bowled and I stumbled upon a killer!!! deal at Brunswick in Murrieta.....on wed. you can bowl from 3-5:30 for $8 (shoes included) as many games as you can bowl. I thought it was a fun way to keep the natives from getting restless. I think they had fun we picked up the Cavi twins to join us. I just love those boys.

Busy Week

This is going to be a hectic week because we leave for "Reno Volleyball Festival" on Friday. So lots of cleaning and preparing the house to be clean when we come home... love that! walking in after a long trip to a clean house. When we get home all of the Fam will be here Yeah!!!! Air soft wars and BBQ and family time with the Bro (Greg) , Karen, Gary, and Adissen...mom should be happy as a clam. I should clarify Reno for you, I will be rooming with 10 fifteen yr old girls! Pray for me please, that I can be a light to them. I am sure that I will walk away from the trip more blessed by them, then they by me. Praise God he always is faithful that way. here is a picture of Greg that Alec took when he came to visit for Christmas.... wish he lived closer :( this picture makes me laugh :)

Love living in the country, the kids found a tarantula the size of a baseball last night YIKES!!! Rachel said "it was ginormous!" when i told her that ginormous wasn't a word she was shocked, i haven't ever corrected her on it but apparently she thought she was saying gigantic, the funniest thing is that her 15 year old sister thought the same thing, I love kids they keep me so entertained! In the picture with my mom is our Newfie Jack isn't he handsome? He is getting a haircut in the morning I will post a picture of him after he gets his new style.

Ahhh Summer.....and Happy Fathers day

We did it!!! In one 4 day period we celebrated Rachel's promotion to 6Th grade, Em's promotion to 9Th, Rachel's B-day party, Pa-pa's (my dad) b-day party, Katlin's graduation party, and Father's Day. Pretty exhausting but Summer has officially begun so there is time to rest and regroup.

We only have 2 days before summer High school camps start. I love having kids that are good at their sport! I have so much fun watching them do the thing God has gifted them to do. How did I end up with kids who are so athletic? (married well I guess)

well... I am off to run errands and clean the casa.

as i write tonight while glancing out the office window at the sun setting over the hills i can not help but praise God for his creation. "He makes all things glorious, and I am His" words to a song I heard on "air1" LOVE IT!! hope all is well in your neck of the woods

Is there such thing as a free Saturday?

Is there? Because it has been years since our family has had one. Baseball was rained out and I have no one on the books (I do hair).

So we are cleaning, Jeff and the boys are loading up some palates that we had brick delivered on so that we can get our credit for them, and off they go.



Oh ya we are also getting geared up for Adissen's B-day party, YEAH! Adissen you rock girl!!!



There is a silver-lining to our busy day...we all slept in and had a couple of hours to watch "Enchanted" and drink coffee, my idea of a good morning.



Praise God I guess that I did get a little slice of a free Saturday.

Maybe the trick to focus on the slices.
